Dark Shadow MP3 Sunglasses

Some pairings, unlikely at first, can have an uncanny synergy - like maple syrup and bacon. Then again, others, while logical, can end up suffering the reverse Gestalt: the whole is less than the sum of the parts.

Let's take the example of sunglasses and portable audio players. It's true most portable audio players are used when sunglasses are desirable. But fusing the two is like creating a double-ended chopstick for the sake of efficiency.

Enter the Dark Shadow MP3 Sunglasses. The concept is simple enough: stick a small solid-state portable audio player in the arms of a pair of sunglasses and the rest writes itself. Sadly, the truth falls short of the vision.

The glasses are relatively solid and light, and come with 256 MB of memory -enough for around 60 songs. The controls are on the arms of the glasses, and are fairly straightforward, if a little fiddly to adjust mid-stride.

The lenses are also replaceable with a wide range of alternative colours and tints. However, at the end of the day, the styling will have limited appeal.
